Che Seibert

Born 1955 in Hannoversch-Münden, a small town (!) between Kassel and Göttingen, Germany, I got my first camera, a Kodak Instamatic, at the age of ten to make pics at a boy scout camp. But after that I forgot. Took the cam only outside the box many years later during my stydies in photography for a project about my grandfather.

Then the next one, a Zeiss Ikon Contaflex, met me when I went to a boarding school at the age of 13. I did some pics, learned how to work in the darkroom. And then it broke down and, sorry, I forgot again.

When I lived in a kinda commune in the 70s I bought me at first an East German Praktica and after a short while regarding „it´s my thing“ my first Nikon. I was then Nikonian for about 20 years, studied photography at Kassel University and then did some work as a photographer.

But switched to bookselling which I do til today and paused for some 15 years. When I began to travel through Germany for my small company I began to take pics again: „Germany by car“. Just doing this open project since about 8 years, today with Fuji as the „Leica for the poor“, I guess this time I won´t stop…

So this site is a walk through my life it seems. The most difficult part of doing this was to extract. As everybody knows who is involved in photography you may present another selection next day.
I hope you are a little bit touched maybe amused sometimes…
